Holiday Wishes

May your Winter be Warm…
Your Holidays Happy,
And Peace find you
This Christmas Season.

Merry Christmas!
From our family to yours,
Bradley, Calli, Ian & Ainsley 2008

Our Year of 2008-
Bradley- He is in his 3rd year of medical school at the University of Utah, which means he is out of the classroom and into the hospitals and clinics. He is loving it. He is currently serving in our student ward Bishopric.
Calli- I’m staying busy adjusting to being a mother of two. On occasion I’ve been able to sneak in reading, scrapbooking, and keeping up my RD credentials.
Ian – In a pleasant 2 ½ years old. He loves trains, planes, cars, and anything with wheels and a motor. He has been going to swimming lessons and loves his goggles. Ian enjoys visiting his father at the hospital- at one of Ainsley’s check-ups Ian stated, “I’m at the Hospital…I a lucky boy.” Ian is such a great big brother. When he hears Ainsley awaken from her nap he says, “I hear Ainsley; let’s go get her.”
Ainsley- Born August 18th is now 4 months old and I can’t believe how fast time flies. She is so pleasant and loves her brother, watching everything he does. She is discovering her voice.

Welcome Ainsley Marie

AINSLEY MARIE One Day Old
Ainsley was born 8-18-08, Weighing in at 7lbs 5oz and 19 1/2 in long.

Mother went to the hospital about 3:30p and she was born about 5:00p. It was so quick that the Epidural didn't have time to take effect-resulting in a "Natural" birth. As my Doctor put it "You may have gotten poked but that was Natural." I've thought that I wanted to try going natural but my vote now is Epidural (Just in case). The birth was doable, the stitching was manageable but when I started having contractions the strenth of Labor contractions about an hour after her birth my thought was when is the pain going to end. Well a long story made short I had a post partum hemerage, clots had to be removed- as painful as labor, and an allergic reaction (airway closing) to the one of the drugs to stop the bleeding. Despite the eventful hospital stay I have been well and Ainsley is doing just great. I have been taking it easy thanks to my wonderful husband and mother.

Ian LOVES Ainsley. His first visit he would come give Ainsley a kiss then run off and play run back and give her another kiss and off to play again- hence the fuzzy Ian below.
He loves to hold her.

Know something you don't

Ian Spreads the good news...

Front

Back

We e-mailed these pictures to some family and friends.
For Grandma and Grandpa Hancock we met them for dinner and of course grandma read the front and said "Hmmm" to which Brad replied "well you have to read the back." The only sound that came out of Grandma's mouth was a squeal followed by "You have to read this!" directed to Grandpa. To this he said "I know what is says." I'm sure he guessed by the reaction of delight we got from Grandma!

2007 Christmas Eve at the Yurt

Dec. 23 to the 24th We went with the Hancock's up to Lilly Lake Yurt. It was close quarters but really fun to bond with the family in the snowy mountains. Half the fun was getting there- some snow shoed in and others snowmobiled.

'07 Halloween and the Pumpkin Patch

It was Ian's first time trick-or- treating. The first door we went to we was our own and dad gave me lots of candy. The second door we went to Ian took a candy from his bucket and put it in the bowl.
Watching the kids before we went out.

Ian with friend Easton. Mom was the chicken farmer.
We left dad home to answer the door.

We met Aunt Steph and cousin Autum at the pumpkin patch.
Ian had lots of fun....

...sitting on the tractor... (not to mention the wheel barrow, and mini corn maze)

Great Grandpa Schouten was just up the road and stopped by to play in the hay.
